Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We have already achieved much, but constantly aim higher, since we believe that sustainable action is the only way to thrive.

INNOVATION

We acknowledge the fact that sustainability is never a stationary state of being but instead requires constant re-evaluation of our actions. We always keep our eyes open and actively look for more ecologically friendly material options and new ways to contribute to social sustainability.

EXPERIENCE

Torstai has been in the sportswear business since 1974. Our broad experience and firm footing in the textile industry form a solid foundation for continuing to build our sustainability programme.

Our vision is to create a more balanced future. We strive towards equal well-being and harmony on our planet. Balance cannot be achieved by quick fixes – it is possible only with a determined mindset, by being mindful of nature and people around us. Here are the steps we are taking to turn our vision into reality.

RECYCLABLE MATERIALS

From the beginning of the design process we take the recyclability of materials into account. We keep up with the latest developments in recycling technologies and adopt them as soon as possible. By 2025, our target is to have a collection in which 90 per cent of the materials used are recyclable. Sustainable design is the key to achieving this goal.

GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS

We are committed to cutting our carbon footprint by a half by 2025. We will do this by increasing the amount of recycled materials in our collection, increasing the use of ecological dyeing techniques and replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy.

ENERGY PRODUCTION

We want to produce the energy we use in a more ecological way. At the moment, we are looking for ways to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy resources.

LOGISTICS

We are currently working on decreasing our packaging waste by reducing the amount of plastics used throughout our logistics chain.
